Gen6 DIY black-housing + DIY painted spoiler !!!!!

DIY black-housing

I also tinted my amber.

hey you could kinda see me.. haha

gotta show an ass-shot too.

my tinted tails look so bright in the sun.....

Installed it with 5lb double-sided tape.

Sticks up a little bit..

Paint actually matches pretty well, you just cant really tell from the pictures. Plus, I gotta buff it.. but I'm getting lazy haha

Nice black housing headlights. I guess you baked them. I would love to do it but I'll probably break something. I wonder how it will hold up to condensation. That chrome bar on the trunk still seems out of place. The chrome on the front grille is great because its subtle. It doesnt stand out.

Nice view also

Wish someone in NYC who has done black housing can help me out.

Use a leaf blower, it gets rid of water in the cracks.

If he can somehow turn the chrome bar on the trunk into black chrome then that would be a great match to his car. I would buy that black chrome bar in a heartbeat.

Wow, that's lookin' good Joon. I thought your previous setup with the Yellow painted fogs was nice but this flows much better with your current theme.

Thanks for all the compliments!

dcemureviews - Yes, I did bake them at 275 degrees at 4 minute intervals to make sure I dont see anything melting. And to prevent condensation, I put a couple packs of silica gel inside the housing as well as re-glue the housing together with clear GE silicone II. So far so good and no fogging!

PrincessPeach - I'm down for a photoshoot in Riverside. PM me when u get ur car back.

cosism - Thanks, I used VHT Nite Shades spraypaint (saved a can since the beginning of the taillight tint craze) and first couple coats were DARK so I removed it safely with some paint thinner and then lightly coated it. It looks much lighter/nicer in person.

At the moment, I'm painting my OEM-style spoiler! Bought a can of Universal Metallic Black spraypaint at Autozone and the color is unbelievably similar. I'll take pictures as soon as it's installed.
