Harsh road noise when changing lanes?

I need to see if I can get your guys input on my 2009 Camry SE V-6. And yes I have searched and searched for something relating to this problem and have not been able to come up with anything.

When changing lanes on the highway or interstate at speeds over 45 mph I get a really harsh road noise. Now if I am just drive straight down the road I don't hear this problem. My mother in law has a 2007 SE V-6 and her's does the same thing. It is actually a pretty loud noise and easy to hear. Easy enough that my two year old in the back seat will say "What that noise?" when she hears it.

Nothing has been done to the stock tires or suspension so I'm just wondering if this is just a common noise you get when driving this awesome car or if everybody has it and just lives with it.

The roads here in Southwest Missouri I would describe as being cut grooved and maybe it is just how the roads are done around here. But I have traveled in it to Kansas City and St. Louis Missouri in it and got the same noise when in those area's on the interstate.

Anyway, I know this is long winded but would appreciate any feedback you guys can provide. Thanks in advance.

its probably just the stock tires. some tires are noisier than others. plus when you change lanes, you drive over the markings which are raised, which in turn creates road noise.

Assuming you have the correct tire pressure I would say it's just the low profile tires and SE suspension that make it noisey. If you wanted to float should have gone for the XLE.

Tire pressure is good. I've had many cars/sports cars with low profile tires and sport suspensions and never had a road noise like this. The XLE look just wasn't for me. Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the input. I'm aware of road marking and know the sound you get when crossing over a marking and this is not that noise.
