Help with 2003 Camry ECU/Transmission

I have a 2003 Camry that is having some shifting issues. It hesitates ( I notice the RPMS go up) then with a jerking motion shifts. This does not happen all the time. Most of the time it is either from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd. Sometime if it is in reverse going up hill it will do it. We took it to the dealership & they think it is the ECU & needs to be replaced but were not 100% sure that was it. A new ECU is $1060. Anyone else had any experience with something like this.

Sounds simple, but have you checked your transmission fluid level?

Yep! I have been reading the Forums & it seems like this is pretty common. I did find a TSB for 2003 Camry TSB No.: 00803 ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) CALIBRATION - shifting enhancement. But cant find any information on it. I should also say I did have a New ECU put in just over 2 years ago.
