"Camry doesn't impart the impression of buttoned down security like we desire in a family stormer. Light steering devoid of feel keeps mum about what's going on with the tires, and the Camry feels nervous on the road."

I don't think 'feeling nervous on the road' means feeling the bumps. Can someone define it? Is it something (also) experienced on highways?

1) Honda Accord
It's bigger. But not better. The new designed-in-America Accord seems to have caught the old Detroit disease -- give 'em quantity, not quality. Sure, there's a ton of room inside, but the exterior looks like it was designed in the dark by a committee, and the fit and finish of the cars we've tested has not been up to Honda's usual impeccable standard. Both the V-6 and four cylinder powertrains are good, as you'd expect, but a five speed auto doesn't cut it when the competition offers six-speeders. The ride quality is marginal for what is supposed to be a family sedan. If you want a smoother drive and more style, the new Chevy Malibu is a better bet, and the faster, sharper, better braking Camry SE V-6 destroys it as the family man's sport sedan.

I keep hearing people say that the quality has slipped, I have not seen it. The new Camry is a hell of a car for what it is, it is not a BMW, it is a Japanese sedan.
