vacuum hiss???

Hello all I have another early morning start up question. If the car sits for a little while, lets say all night, or over 4 hours, when I start it up, it starts and sounds fine, but when I pull out or if I sit there in park and rev it alittle bit, lets say oh, to 4 grand, it sounds like there is some sort of rattle or vacuum hiss. I can hear it really really well from inside the cabin, but if I pop the hood and have someone rev it for me, the sound is not there.

I know it could be a number of things, and I actually thought it might have been a pulley or a exhaust shield rattle, but upon popping the hood and being not able to hear it from up front, I really have no ideal where its coming from.

Any ideas???? I sure as heck don't have anymore. I"d like to at least see where its coming from because if its going to cause a problem, I would love to catch it before anything drastic happens. Thanks guys.

I have a similar issue.

I also have a vacuum hiss which happens at any time that I put the car in reverse. It doesn't matter if I'm moving or not, and how fast.

Like you, it's most audible inside the cockpit. I've taken it to my personal mechanic and while he does hear it, we could not pin-point the source.

I'm thinking of approaching the dealer about this.

You don't like the sound your car makes when you rev it up to 4,000 in park?

I've never tried it. I guess that's because doing so is pointless...

Yes and my vacuum hiss noise appears to be coming from somewhere in the engine bay near where the windshield starts. You can hear it best when you're on either side of the car, but not so well when you're in front or behind it.

It never made this sound before and I know because I drive this car every single day.

How so? All you are doing is wasting gas. So what, its my gas. And its not like I sit there playing vroom vroom race car at stop lights. I noticed the sound while pulling out one day and the next stop I came to is when I placed it in neutral and revved it to listen.

Btw, I really cant record the sound, but I can bet that the sound you guys are hearing, is the same that I am.
