TRD Lowering Springs For 08 SE...

I know there was a springs kit for the current generation SE available, but is it possible to have these installed after the purchase of the vehicle? I already have the TRD 18s but didn't get the springs installed for the delivery date; now I'm thinking I want them, but is it difficult for the dealer to install them after the vehicle has had the 18s installed, or is this no big deal?

Also, does anyone know offhand how much these springs cost through an average dealer?

Thanks.

the dealer can install them for you no problem, but the price the dealer charges is normally a lot higher.
i recall last year when i inquired about trd springs they were asking for 600 for labor and warranty etc.

springs cost maybe 250-300 if bought from the dealer. if you do a search, you can probably find online stores selling em for about 190-225 i believe. check www.autoanything.com

Nice camry. I had my TRDs installed after I purchased the car. The dealer did it for $550 parts and labor.

If you do it let me know if you have any problems. I get a very loud ratcheting/knocking from the LF. It has been back to the dealer 4 times and they removed and reinstalled the LF spring 3 times. It hasn't been fixed. They even called "Tech Line" and supposedly the guy said to replace the strut bearings which they did also. Still makes the noises. I am at a loss no as to what to do next.

Thanks a lot Moky...

Wow; yeah, $600 is a lot. But I guess that's standard dealership practice.

But the parts department of the dealer can definitely get these in for installing no problem?

Thanks WCD...

I suppose $550 isn't too bad; thanks for the info...how long after having the car did you have em installed?

Hmmm...that's not good...wonder if it's worth getting it done at all or if I should stay on stock height...

I will definitely let you know if I get it done and if there are any issues. How much lower do the TRD springs lower the SE?

Thanks...

If it's not parts, who in the dealership would order them?

How much lower do the springs drop the SE, do you know offhand? Do they look good with the TRD 18s?

it's just the parts dept who will order them in for you.

they will drop the car 1" front and 1.4" rear. it would settle to close to 1.25"F and 1.5"R based on experience on these springs when i had em. you can do a search for the trd springs and wheels, or browse thru the gen5/6 picture thread.

there are several members here who have the trd rims and springs, the only guy i can think of now is trd-98tt who probably has the most trd parts on his gen6

Thanks Moky, for all the info...

Will the springs definitely help, at least, some of the fenderwell gap I have now with the 18s and stock height?

You might want to consider H&R springs. They give a more even/level dropped.
