5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
'08 LE I4, unmodified engine, well maintained, almost 11,000 mi.
Everytime I start the car, leave it running for about a min or 2, then I turn on the A/C, the car vibrates roughly for a few seconds, I can feel the whole car vibrates. The engine temp is normal, RPM stays the same. Outside temp is around 90-100 F.
The same thing happen to my other '08 LE I4. Is this normal?
I even turned off the A/C, then turn it back on, it vibrates again.
I've had this problem for a while, I thought it was normal, but this happens everyday now.
wow, come to think of it, mines does that too. I have roughly 13500 k miles on mines. then again, my 2000 LE I4 Camry does that too so I figured it was normal.
why doesn't the V6 do this? mines silent as a breeze...
I4 LE here. 15k miles. no problem at all. the only vibrations i notice is when im turning steap when going out of the parking lot it vibrates. but when i turn on the AC my RPM is still about the same.
i advice you to call your local dealer and ask them to duplicate the problem.

mine does that too. I thought it was normal? Just accepted that my engine's weak. You drive for a little bit, and the idle should stabilize with the AC on and not rumble anymore.
