At least you have the option for it. Here it comes standard with all new Camry's. What I would like to see is the ability to easily switch VSC off with a simple flick of a switch.

I agree but regardless of how good your driving skills are no one is perfect and not everyones reaction is quick where it will prevent any crashes. Even the most cautious drivers will get into accidents. When your car starts to slide or lose traction, your mind cant react to the situation that quick cuz you'll probably be panicing.
That doesnt mean that the TC and VSC will save your ass everytime but its always good to have as a backup or main safety. My uncle has it on his minivan and all his cars and he drives a lot. He loves to drive and when I was talking to him about getting my Camry at the time, the first thing he mentioned was the TC and VSC and to get it. He told me that it has saved his life multiple times. He's not a speeder nor is he a reckless driver.
Also, just because the roads are always plowed, doesnt mean there wont be ice or black ice where you wouldnt be able to see or feel until you notice your car starts to slide. Once icy spot is all it takes. Same goes for a rainy day when you car starts to hydroplane over it.
