Gene's horrible day :( XenonDepot HID Problems

Gene has the XenonDepot kit, complete with relay and ballast. I gave it to him as a gift a couple months ago.

Gene was driving back home today and he noticed that his right headlight went out. He stopped to check out the ballast, and this is what he found...

His right bulb came loose, due to the plastic 3 prong bracket. He said that it got hot, and the 3 pronged plastic twisted causing the bulb to fall out, melting his headlight,

He then checked on his left headlight to be safe, and the left bulb was coming loose also.

Did you guys have these problems with the xenondepot kit or any other HID kit? Any/all feedback would be appreciated. Thank you TN

that sucks, that bulb does look pretty damn hot. As you know i didn't install my HIDs, the place that i got it installed from... They mounted the ballast on the back of the headlamps. I'm not sure if it's good to have it there but it looks as if they used the ballast as a foundation for the bulb just in case it got loose or whatever.

Damn. I read a thread over hidplanet and a guy who has done a retro on his car. OUT OF NOWHERE his garage burns down. They did some detective work and found out it was because of the retro but the guy is known for doing some really good retro (or someone did it for him, but the job was good).

I have a couple of friends who buy some really cheap kit, less than $50 bucks and its been running for 2-3 years already and NO PROBLEM! From what I know, xenon depot makes some of the best kits so not sure why that is.

Holy crap!!! Talked about melting hot. Damn, consider yourself lucky because it could be a lot worse to your engine.
I wonder what xenondepot has to said about this.
This is a weird day for both Gene and Peach. Hope tomorrow is a better day guys.
