5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
My radio's volume increases when I go past like 30 mph. My friend's civic did the same, but was able to change it. Is this also possbile for us? I have an 09 camry. Before someone flames me (cuz that seems to be the case for every thread) I did a search and did not find anything. Thank you for the help, but it's irritating to see people get flamed all the time. If you don't want to read it just go past it.

The answer is in your Owners Manual along with a number of other things that you didn't know about.........

Sigh...predictable as usual. Don't provide an answer, just make yourself look worse.
I noticed that trend in thread replies as well. Ah well.
Yeah, it's a feature that adjusts volume to counter the wind noises and other elements you experience as you travel at higher speeds. It's adjustable and able to be disabled completely by pressing the "Tune" button (also a knob...the right knob of the two large ones at the top of the radio's unit). As you press it you see other settings you can adjust like Bass, Treble, Fade, Balance, and you should also see "ASL" It's options are Lo, Mid, Hi, or Off. I keep mine on Mid because I actually like the noise compensation but I find that it's not enough when on Low, and too much when on High. When on Hi, once I get used to the volume level I had a certain speed, it fades on me when I slow down lol so for me, Mid is just right. Press the knob to access the settings, turn/rotate it to toggle the options available. Hope I helped.

Thank You for the help, but I guess this forum is for Professional Camry owners only, so I guess I don't belong.
There's no such thing as a "professional Camry owner". We are all a bunch of dudes (and a couple of chicks) just like you....Camry owners interested in modifications and usefull info about our Camry's.
Most of us started out on this forum and other forums just like you are now...asking a simple question about your car. The more you hang around, the more you will learn. The more you learn, the more modifications you blow money on....
Change of subject. You should read this if you are in Houston.
