If I was moderator, I'd combine this thread with the Honda Civic thread

It would help a little but I think experience in driving on gravel road like this will do a lot more. Of cause the experience one will do the safe speed and what to do when slipping like this. I always amaze with those off road race.

if i hadnt hit the gravel id have been fine...i can say that i really cant stand abs brakes now....when i hit the brake pedal i want to stop! not have my brakes knock and grumble and skip...
Isn't ABS apply to only to the wheel that have no grip/control?

Slow down on turns that you don't know. Took me awhile to learn this simple and stupid but useful rule.

I had a few close call myself. Once I drove through an everyday turn at regular speed and the car slip, came to about half an inch almost hit the park car on the side of the road. The road was wet and the rain carry some sand into that turn that I didn't see until last sec. I should slowed down more.

Stay safe ppl. Better be late than not getting there at all.

I've had some experiences like that before, and it's scary as hell knowing that there is almost nothing you can do to stop it. It happened to me a few times this winter, I was just lucky I was able to move to the other lane to avoid rear ending someone.
