I am looking to replace the OEM Toyo J33 with yokohama AVID V4S for $125 ea. or S.Drive for $122 ea. I have 33000+ miles on the Toyo tires now, and I don't have any problems with the OEM tires, but need replacement soon. There are ALOT of complains with the OEM tires and plenty of good reviews on Yoko AVID V4S.
Spec for both tires are as follow: S. Drive: 215/55R 17, 98W, 300 thread AA A, 28 lbs, $122 (ultra high performance summer)
AVID V4S: 215/55R 17, 93V, 500 thread AA A, 26lbs, $125 (high performance all-season)
Which one should I get? I am thinking if I can make Toyo J33 last 33000+ miles, I should be able to get at least that much mileage with the S. Drive., right?
I need help!
Anyone knows where I can get a better deal with these two tires? Spec and Price are from tiretrack.com
get the Avids they are a very good tire and quite a few people can say the same
i would vouch for yokohama yk520's a lil pricey but it has 60k mile warranty. the ride is so good i have 225/50/17 but its like having my oem 215/60/16. plus its so quite.

The OEM Toyo is a summer tire and I already have 33000+ miles on them. Rain or shine they work fine.
all season and summer does not make much difference to me. I don't drive in snow.

Bingo! which one should I get? Does ultra high performance last the same as high performance tire?
Just look at the thread 300 vs. 500. Of course the 500 will last longer.
Remember it's a give and take. For a tire to have great traction then it will have low thread. IMO, you have a Camry, just get the AVID V4S because you're not driving crazy and burn out like the 350z so you don't really need those Ultra High Performance tires.

I concur. I have the YK520 right now. Already 6,000 miles and rides quiet. On turns, it's not as grippy as with my old Kumho Ecsta's, but it's still good. Go to America's Tire Co. and chat with them, if you're lucky, they'll hook you up. I got mine for $110 a piece.
