5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I've read numerous complaints regarding quality, but my '09 SE is as solid as my previous three Cams. Maybe I was just really lucky ???
While I've noticed a couple of minor fitment issues, I have absolutely NO rattles or squeaks whatsoever. The car is solid and the engine is, as we know, tried and true! (I4, here!)
In fact, the only issue I have is that one of my floor mat anchors came out.
Well, sorry to hear you're not happy with your Cam, but you might want to rethink your thoughts on GM.............there's talk of a merger with Chrysler! And we KNOW what will happen then! (Just my two cents!)
I don't get how you think we would have an answer to that question when we all love our Gen6's. As far as GM's go....I think you're better off getting a Kia.

Wow! Though I respect your opinion, I have to think logically! GM? Serious? My 09 Camry SE V6 is actually flawless! In every way. Ive owned two other Camry's and many other Jap cars and only two American cars. Theres a BIG difference in quality and workmanship. I am a retired Master Sergeant from the US Air Force after giving 24 years to this country and I am as American as they come. GM? Sorry Charlie! These Camry's are solid as a rock and worth every penny. Sorry for your woe's. Your dismissed!

He wants to ditch Toyota and go to GM? Has he not looked at the news and the economy? GM is losing money. Hell, their stocks is dipping quicker. I think they are one of the companies that makes up the DOW. I'm not a financial or keep up with the stock market but read about it and it aint good for GM. They wouldnt even consider bankruptcy. I wont get into all this as this is for another thread, another forum.
But all I have to say..going to GM at this time...WRONG MOVE!
You're still under warranty, why not go to dealership? You'd probably complain about the dealership too. Nevermind

This is my first Camry and I dont have any major problems with my '09 SE. Once in a while rattling in the back area (from speakers) but stops. Some creaking noise by the center console/cubby area. And definitely the paint job quality.
OK, so you posted this in a Toyota forum and obviously you will get a lot of heat. Now hopefully you are not a GM employee trying to bash Toyota.
I will try to answer your question as good as I can. It seems you have a bad case of buyer's remorse. Been there and happens all the time. I have an attitude like that and that is why I always buy used. Too late now for you. BUT at least go test drive whatever car you are planning to buy next, maybe even rent one for a week. What was your previous car? I went from a 95 Galant to an 02 Sonata. The Galant felt like it was on its last leg, but then the 02 Sonata even though cost me an arm an a leg more was a total POS compared to the Galant. I took it back to the dealer and got my trade in back. It helped that the weren't able to unload the Galant. I still took a hit, both on the license fees and tax and then another $1000 on the car. And this was a used car.
Now I have an 05 Certified preowned Camry. Relatively happy, but will tell you quality is not what my 89 Corolla or 92 Camry had. That is my opinion.
After you are sure on your next purchase try to sell your car yourself. Check kbb.com and edmunds.com, you will probably do much better than carmax or trade-in, unless you get lucky and the dealer who sold you the car works something out with you. I am not sure if your problems will qualify for lemon law, look into that too.
For everybody else out there, relax, Toyota builds good cars but if the whole world was driving them life would had been boring!
09 Camry Se Is Flawless! No Defects Like Yours. Maybe Ur A Board Crasher, Like The Rest Of The Gm Owners From Other Forums.
