Gen6 HELP! HID Installation Problems

Hey guys,

I bought a HID kit from xenondepot and installed it yesterday. I followed the instructions posted here to remove the bumper and fix the squirrel spotters. Unfortunately, I'm having 2 problems:

1) I used aluminized HVAC duct tape to cover the spotters. Then I pushed the metal flap over (down), but when I did this, I saw a gap at the top. I guess this is why you need to use JB Weld. So instead of starting the procedure over again (I wasn't sure how I was going to bend the flap back), I used JB Weld on a brush and used a few blobs to cover the gaps. Unfortunately, after finishing up last night, I saw that the spotters were not completely covered. There's some light that gets through at the top. It's not that bad, but what can I do to fix it? Before I put them back in, I checked for gaps and I didn't see anything.

2) After putting the bumper back on, it's not completely lined up on the bottom. I can't line up the holes on the bottom splashguard. The other problem is that I don't know which screws/bolts go where :\ Would someone with an SE or with this splashguard mind taking some pictures so I can figure out how to put it back together?

Thanks!

-G

You could use some more jb weld, but if you already have the headlight off, why not just go the extra step and swap out the projectors? Its simple and would give you much better output. As for the bumper, I can't exactly remember, but all the plastic clips are the same, just push them all in the holes. I can't remember if there were any bolts on the underside, but I know there is 1 screw in each wheel well and the 3 on top...maybe someone else has pics. Make sure that the bumper is secure before you put any clips or screws in. It should stay on without anything. If there is anything in the way, then it won't sit correctly. It could be the styrofoam behind the bumper that is pushing it out, but its more likely that you just need to get the right order of overlapping plastic on the underside.
