Question about 2005 Camry LE with BBS package...

So, my father has a 2005 Camry LE with the BBS appearance package. Now, I''''m trying to figure out what the value of his car is. Since this car is not common and the KBB does not show the value of this car with the BBS package. Does anybody have any clue what this car would be valued at with 50,000 miles? Thanks....

Approximately $10,500-11,000 for trade-in, assuming good condition.
Approximately $12,500-13,000 for private sale, assuming good condition.

Use the value it gives you for an LE model and look towards the high end.

Unless the BBS appearance package includes leather or similar options, it most likely won't add significantly to the resale value of the car.

Body kits, fake convertible tops, or other similar items (not listed on kbb.com) won't add much.

To make matters worse, Camry LE's are extremely common cars- even with special packages. Any Toyota dealer will have tons of 2005 and 2006 LE's on their used car lot.

value should be comprable to that of a standard LE....even with the appearance package and wheels it isnt valued too much higher because its still just a camry LE, and dealers are LOADED with gen 5-5.5 LE models...i know my dealer has about 7-8 on the used car lot right now...compared to 1 SE and 2 XLE gen 5models.

Hmmm....so the BBS package doesn't add to value? That's strange considering he paid nearly 2000 dollars for the whole package (spoiler, wheels, ground effects and so on...)

Yep. Dealers love "Special Editions" and dealer-installed options because they are high-profit items that add significantly to the car's price.

In addition, in 3-5 years when you return to trade the car in, those same options which you paid through the nose for are worth very little, if anything upon trade-in.

For instance, almost none of the available accessories available for new Camrys would increase the value of the car after it's driven off of the lot. (The exception being the alloy wheels- although they aren't worth anything near what the dealer charged initially)

Your father might get a bit more if he tried to sell the vehicle himself, but don't count on getting more than a few hundred more than a similarly equipped LE (if that).

Wow. That really sucks. I think he's going to try to sell it privately to see how much he can get out of it. We will see.

Thanks for the feedback.

It's not a BBS package. It's an SET Special Edition with BBS wheels installed as part of the option package.

It adds a slight amount of value to the vehicle, but it's up to the buyer how much it adds. If the person buying the car doesn't care about it, they won't spend anything additional for it.
