codes P0441, P0446, P0445 FYI

Just wanted to post for someone's benefit: I have 2006 Camry 4cyl, with 37,900 miles. and had a check engine light that came just after the 36,000 mile warranty expired.

Got diagnosed at Autozone and was told EVAP system and try changing gas cap. Well that did'nt work.

Went to dealer who checked it out, had codes P0441, P0446, P0445 ....stated VSV not operating properly and charcol canister leaking.

So hope that helps some with these codes....

So did it get fixed under warranty?

Your emissions warranty runs for 8 years/80,000 miles............

The dealer just follows the troubleshooting matrix that is in your factory Service Manual.....

8yr 80k warranty does not cover evap emission system, basically only ecm and cat are covered under 8yr 80k
otherwise 3yr 36k and with todays economy I dont doubt that a dealer would not cover it. Maybe if you have been loyal to a toyo dealer.

You are correct, I was mistaken.

The Owners warranty information could be written a little clearer.

The charcoal canister and vsc are not covered by the 8/80.

I don't see them excluded on the Platinum Extended warranty however...

Like you said this is not covered under the 8/80 but under 3/ 36 which was gone for my car. But this dealer (Toyota of Irving in Irving,TX) helped me and covered under the 3/36 (they said they did as goodwill).

As for the dealer you are "loyal to"---->they (Don Davis Toyota of Arlington,TX) were not willing to help at all......I will not be spending my money at this dealer anymore!!

If you have been overfilling the tank, stop. This can cause problems with the canister.
