New Gen 5 Owner - 2006 Auto LE
You guys have a good forum here. Lots of good information.
I had a 2000 Camry before so I knew Camry would be a decent car. I just bought a certified 06 LE Auto with 16.2K miles on it from a Toyota dealer for $14.8K. It has typical used car scratches here and there, otherwise looks good. I looked at the service records, usual one owner stuff and recently the oil pan seal was split so oil was leaking and was fixed before the car was put up for sale.
I know 06 Camry was the last year of production, so should have all the bugs ironed out and should be fairly reliable. The alignment is not perfect so I am going to get it aligned from the dealer I bought it for free, steering angle is slightly left and it has a very slight tendency to go right on the freeway. Brakes from 80mph -60mph pulsates a little, turning the rotors might fix that, may be I should have the dealer do that too. Brake pedal is mushy.
From what I read on the forum, water pump might be an issue, since its covered under certified warranty I should be ok. What else should I look forward to ? I will be doing some more research here. I bought the car without doing too much research, so here I am.
I usually do my own oil change, brakes & coolant etc. So I am mechanically inclined.
This is my wifes car, I have a 350Z M/T that I absolutely love.
