Lightbulb Did anybody see this?

Hey guys, after reading the "What happened to the Camry forum" I decided I'd try to do some brainstorming with you guys, something that happens more often in the good'ol 3rd gen forum.

So here it is,

After doing a search here and finding next to nothing for turbocharging or supercharging a 6th gen I went to the more sportier side of the 2AZ-FE.

When searching a Scion Ic forum, I quickly realized those guys were full into modifying...and also there's guys going only towards TRD for their warranty.

TRD has the usual supercharger, and other companies offer Turbo kits. But nobody ever mentions the Camry!! Not even TRD USA.

So this is where it gets fun. What do you guys think?

Will your dealer freak out when he sees you TRD s/c?

Will the aftermarket turbo and intercooler kit fit in the Cam?

Is there ultimately any difference between a Ic 2007 2az and the Camry 2007 2az?

This is gonna be fun

And here the link for the Scion Forum.

This is where a search of the history becomes helpful. You would discover that:
-several folks looked at adding the Scion parts to an I4 Camry and found that many custom parts would be required, and generally, things didn't fit as you might think they might. The basic engine is the same. The plumbing apparently is quite different.
-if someone wants much more power out of their I4 Camry, they are better off just buying a V6 up front and forgetting about the screwing around with aftermarket components. And it is cheaper to boot. And when it comes to selling the used car, you might find a grateful buyer, but most people aren't excited as much as you are when it comes to modified engines.
-Scion people are more inclined to beef up their engines because there is no other option. Camry people can just add a little change to their cashiers check and be done with it.
-There is hardly any room under the hood of the V6 to add a turbo and hardly any reason for anyone to boost the air pressure. I can go from zero to 95 in the length of the local freeway on-ramp, and it does top out at 145 on the way to Houston. That's about all anyone needs.

Save your money or buy a V6.

Well it is possible to turbo the 2AZ-FE engine, since you can use the same turbo manifold as the Scion tC. As for turboing the 2GR-FE engine, it's very hard to find a exhaust manifold that would fit into the headers for that engine, the headers are different for the IS350's 2GR-FSE engine, so nothing from there can fit. It'd just require custom work in trying to get the turbo to fit onto the manifold itself.

Plus, there is very little ECU tuning or mapping that is available for the Gen6 Camrys too. It's natural that Scion tC's would have a much greater aftermarket support, since the car was designed for that type of audience. There is a very small percentage of Gen6 Camry owners that actually mod and go as far as forced induction for their Camrys.

Guess you havent been poking or reading much in this side of the forum. Gene and PrincessPeach already have turbo in their Gen 6 (as someone mentioned above). They have 4cyl (I4) model. Gene can do a V6 turbo but it costs a pretty penny.

You do know that the intention of the Scion brand in general was for modifications right? Why you think there are so many parts and aftermarket support for it.

The Camry is a family sedan hence there arent a lot of aftermarket support that you would find on a Scion. Even thought there is a SE version of the Camry, Toyota should of supported it a bit more. Theres not even a TRD front strut bar.

Also, what if someone wanted to drive a manual like Gene? There is no V6 manual.
