i have a urgen question for all your suspension pros out there... i'm debating if i should get megan racing coil or trd springs... i just want my car to be lowered and look good... i don't want my shocks to blow out after a while... but i've been reading that people have trd springs are working fine... so what should i get... i have a 12 in sub in my trunk and my tool box... so not that heavy.... before in my gen 5 i had a 15 inch L7 in my trunk... and i drove my car hard so it cause my shock to blow out... so i don't want that to happen again... and that's the reason why i'm debating to get the coil or not... now i don't drive my car hard... so it may be okay if i just change the shocks? i live around the LA area... the people that live around here must know the road condition are not that good... that's one of my concern too for the coil... because i've heard that the coil makes the car really stiff... so PLEASE help me on my decision... thank you so much

Well with coilovers, they usually come with a dampening factor that allows you to control if you want a harsh ride versus a soft one.
The price difference is huge tho. The megan racing coilovers are about 900-1000 versus trd springs which is about 200?
alright. Basically. your 12' sub and your tool box WILL weigh down your car in the back. Also, TRD springs are unevenly dropped with the rear visibly lower than the front. This added with your subwoofer in the back will make your car look like a car with your whole family packed in the back.
Coilovers are not stiff. You can make it stiff, or you can make it soft, which is the best part about adjustable damper suspension. Just get the coils and make it soft.

I had TRD spring on my 07 camry SE however I took them off beacuse the car was lower in the rear and it looked like it was sagging, the ride on the TRD was great I had no complains but the look was not my cup of tea. there are also H&R springs which are 1.4 in the front and 1.3 in the rear. I dont know what the ride is like so im waiting to see if anyone has them on their camry on another threat.

You should have talk to me before you undo your TRD springs. I have the same sagging look but I used the cushioning in the rear springs and my car has an even drop for about a year now.

Do you still have the TRD springs? Cause I'm looking for some used ones.
i have H&R spring right now. and im impressed with the drop. but if you have 19-20 inch wheels and want that VIP'd/Slammed look go for the Coils. moky is right. you can always resell them too! hehehe. but if your tight with budget the best drop/ride quality will be h&r. if you want a little more performance/stiffer and lower drop go for teins!

It more or less depends on what you value and consider as 'stiffness', if you've been on four door sedans mainly and/or larger cars, then TRD springs would definitely feel stiffer then stock suspension.
But if you've been driving small nimble cars, such as S2000's, MR2's, or even Integra's and Civic hatches, then TRD springs wouldn't quite be enough.
I went from SE Springs on my SE to TRD springs and it's been over 6 months already, they work fine in Chicago conditions, this would be the first winter that's coming, so I'd like to see how they perform then consider swapping to coils in the spring.
After springs, it'd probably give you a good taste of lowering your car, and you'd end up wanting more and going with coilovers anyways, lol.
