Temperature Needle went psycho!!

hey guys i need some help... im not sure how it happened, but my temp. needle is now at a 180 degree tilt:

1. Has anyone had this happen to them? If so, what was your resolution?

2. I don't really want to take apart my dash to take out the gauge cluster, do you think this may just be a fluke? will it go back to normal after non-operation?

3. Would this be under any type of warranty? It is an 05 with 41k+. It is an odd situation so I dont know if they would be kind and take care of it no charge.

Thanks in advance guys. I'm hoping it goes back to normal when I leave for work tmrw.

Looks like you may have an open circuit on one side of the gauge. Doubt very much that it will reset itself, however, you will never know.

Call up your dealer and see what they say, seems like you are just over the warranty by a little bit, they just might good will it for you. At least, it never hurts to ask.

Update: Started the car up this morning and all is working fine. Must have just been a fluke of some sort. No way of explaining it, but i sure am glad i dont need to bring it in to be repaired!

You may still want to call your dealer and see if maybe they know something about what had happened.
