Gen6 HID Problems

I installed the XenonDepot 5000K kit a few weeks ago (and yes, I covered the spotters!), but I'm having a small problem. When I start the car, the lights don't always come on. Sometimes one comes on, sometimes both, or sometimes neither one. If I turn them off then back on again, they both come on fine. I'm guessing that the starter is causing the current to drop to the HIDs to a point where they won't light up. Anyone else seen this problem? What can I do to fix it?

Thanks,

-G

If I remember correctly, this was mentioned in one of the threads. Dont remember which one exactly. Did you check all wires are connected and secured? Do you have relay harness? If not, this could be the problem.

i had the same problem. i thought it was the ballast...i just contacted steve and he sent me a email on how to test the ballast and relay. it was a faulty relay...told steve and he sent me a new one. it'll be here monday. check your ground wire. sometimes my ground comes loose from where i put it and it doesnt work.

That also happened to me and my bro couple months after installation. What I did to fix is cover all the contacts of the relays with silicon RTV (they still corroded when covered by plastic bag). They work flawless since then.
