not really, my car was driving and shifting nicely before the fluids

Nice informnation...love the music though!!! haha! Now when you say use only toyota antifreeze, is that a reccomendation or a warning? Is there anything wrong with using aanother type, say like Preston?

The dark fluid is normal, the fluid was probably fine which is why you were unable to discern any improvements after the fluid change.

I would recommend draining and refilling the unit a few times to remove as much of the old fluid as possible. Or, you can remove the lines and flush the system.

Toyota antifreeze is recommended which is a warning. It is specially formulated to work with Toyota vehicles.

Wouldn't it be better to drop the pan and clean the magnet as well? To me it seems like some of the bolts are hard to reach. Any tip?
