dont the vent part just pull out, and those just clip in.
i am sure.5 min fix. just tape an end of a small flat head screw driver and pry around it, it pops out.
yep there it is. from when i did my terk install

The service manager said the whole dash has to come out, most likely he really does not know, I do not want to break anything. Could you please give me more hints.

Toyota nation comes through, I pop the vent module out with a butterknife.
and put the button unit back in its clip. and its a done deal. I had thought about pulling out the vents, but was afraid of breaking some plastic attachment point. An d the service writer was not encouraging.
i did scratch up the button by self by trying to pull it up with some needle nose pliers. I just saved myself the loss of the car for half a day.

Lol, that could've been it. I remember once, my wheel cover was missing when I had the tires rotated. I got so mad, I cussed everyone out at the dealership, and whuduya know. They found it... And since then, I haven't had any problems out of them.
