Ok. So i was at a stop sign with a cop perpendicular to where i was going. I move forward as my turn comes along, and the cop car on my left decides to make a left leaving him right behind me. I already knew i was going to be pulled over because this guy was really like 2 feet away from my bumper. I was about to hit the freeway going to my school (ucr) when the motorcycle cop decides to put his lights on. I pull over and he asks me for the license and registration and insurance stuff. OK so I didn't know what either my registration or my insurance looked like so it took me like 10 minutes of going thru my glove box to find my little piece of papers. I felt bad and pretty dumb for taking that long, but its all good cus i only got pulled over for having my front windows tinted to dark.
So now my dilemma is that after i get my tint removed, should i just leave my back ones tinted or just remove those also?
I have no clue how it's going to look like, but to me it seems pretty weird to have half of my car tinted and not the other half. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Why would you even put tints on your front window? Its illegal to begin with
The back window and back doors can be of any darkness. The front windshield can not be tinted and the front doors can only be tinted a certain %. Find your state in the link above for legal tint %.
Here is for California
Windshield - Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 4 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows - Must allow more than 70% of light in.
Back Side Windows - Any darkness can be used.
Rear Window - Any darkness can be used.
The info in that link is outdated...very outdated. if you look at NY, it says no tints for front door, back door or back windows. I have tints and majority of cars on the road do. They even come tinted from dealers. Not to mention, there are stores that do tints only. If it was illegal in new york, these places wouldnt even be open. Just a FYI
Person who made that list doesnt know what they are talking about..
"Enforcement Note : Out-of-State cars driven in California are required to be in compliance with the CA Tint law."
So that means, if I drive my car to California, I have to remove my tints since I have to comply wit CA tint law? And when I go back to NY, I have to pay to put new tints back?

Unless you deal with a hard ass cop who wants to ruin someone's day by taking the energy of getting their fat ass out of a car or bike to write a fix-it ticket, any out of state driver really has nothing to worry about. I've seen Arizona tagged cars driving around in the Inland Empire with limo tint every time I go back to visit.
I'm surprised this thread has lasted this long. It's a simple fine, and then it's up to the driver if they want to risk getting another ticket or just retinting their car and going on with their lives.
