yes i know there are many DIYs for this, and i know that by asking this question i will be subjecting myself to much ridicule and rude comments along the lines of "do a search retard" well i did a search and am still havin trouble so if somebody could point me in the right direction or even give me the keywords to search (se grille, se grille swap, and se grille swap DIY didnt work for me) thatd be great. Thanks!

its really easy, search for bumper removal also.
Once you remove the bumper, there are 2 screws and various push out clips holding the grille in there, unscrew the 2 screw and push out the old grill, snap in the new one, screw in those 2 screws and put the bumper back on.
ok thanks guys..the main thing was i was going to try and do it without removing the bumper, but i had some serious issues with that working. i reckon ive got a project for tomorrow now

I'm not one that likes to take things apart, but removing the bumper is a breeze once you know know where all the screws are and push pins, took me 3-5 mins the second time I had to remove it.

You should find someway to fashion a ES240 badge for your car. That will really be unique. That way when you take your car into a Lexus dealership they'll know what they're working on.
