I agree that you probably don't need to worry about it. But if you want to go after it, yes, it is a tank mounted unit. It's very large (relative to the fuel filters I'm used to from older cars), at roughly the size and proportions of a quart milk bottle. I have reviewed the change procedures on TIS, and it's not for the feint-hearted. You start by removing the rear seat bench. Then you remove an access panel. Then you break into the fuel tank, and do the replacement. Then you reverse the access procedure.
I'm no professional mechanic, but I will make one hard recommendation: if you do decide to tackle this one at home, do remember to extinguish all smoking materials first. . .
