lowering springs or coilovers?

i know there are many people on here who have used each of them and the price difference is huge. im just wondering which one you all would go with and why. or if you went with one and wish you had got the other, why you wish that. thanks for your opinions

I went with Springs cause I've had Coils before and just didn't like the ride quality, granted they weren't the top of the line coils either cause I just won't spend that much money for dropping my car. So this time around I went with TRD Springs cause my car is also a family vehicle and I love it. I sometimes wish I went with H&R's but I own 20" and haven't rubbed at all so I'm happy I did go with that decision and plus I'm trying to keep most things TRD on the car.

if i had the chance to do it all over again, i'd neither get coils or springs

on a more serious note, springs for me just don't lower the car sufficiently.

go with H&R or Tein if u want Even Drop

H&R drops 1.5~1.75
TEIN S-Tech drop 1.75~2

if u are a agressive drive i recomend a Coilover so u can adjust to Stiff or Softer + play with drops and Camber

i don't understand why there are like 2 threads a week about this with the exact same question..
Use the search function, and get what you think is the best..

coils=ability to slam, camber adjustment, worse ride

springs=moderate lowering(fender gap still present) good ride..

Decide which one of the options is better for your needs.

yes thats my bad for not looking at the sticky. but i wanted actual opinions of what people thought of each, not the features they have. i know what ech does and doesnt do and im not worried about ride quality or price so that stuff doesnt matter (although im going for a show car so lower will probably be better) thanks for the input guys!

The ride isn't that bad with coilovers. I've ridden in several cars with them (almost on a daily basis) and it made my suspension feel like it was stock. If I had the money, I would definitely go for the coilovers.

coilovers does not necessarily mean rough ride fyi, depends on the brand and spring rates

TRD springs for me on an '07 SE V6 driving in Chicago roads and weather.

SE springs were not stiff/low enough for me, so I went with TRD springs for now with the stock 17" wheels. Definitely better in handling, a tad stiffer, but not horrible at all. Definitely manageable even in Chicago's city roads and weather, but this winter would be the first winter I'd go through with them, so I'll see how it is.

Definitely leaves you wanting more though, once you add aftermarket wheels or anything of the such, you'd want coilovers for the more even drop and increase in handling, and if Tein coils ever come out, EDFC would be great to have.

i went from stock SE springs to TRD springs and now on ksport at the STIFFEST setting. i never rode at a softer setting so i dont know how soft it can be but its a hella lot stiffer then the TRD springs. i say if u want a nice even drop plus a lil performance enhancement, coilovers are definitly worth it. although i probably wouldbe never bought it but since knippenkitten sold it for like 800 bucks i tihnk, i took the offer. talking about that fool, ur BBK for 800 bucks and its a deal :P

no, what you have and some other brands are pretty awesome...I would love to have some JIC -VIP FLT TAR coilovers, I've heard they ride better than stock on the m45s...

But, for what is readily available for the Camrys, Megan and Ksport, the ride is going to be pretty rough..

And when I talked to JLB motorsports about custom spring rates for the camry coils, they said I would likely have to pay the full MSRP, not their discounted price.

But, custom spring rates would be bananas for the Camry, B-A-N-A-N-A-S
