Gen6 2009 Camry LE & HID Issues

i'm rolling with a 2009 LE.

just had some HID's installed in my headlights, but having issues.

every once in a while, the HID's just go to shit. when the lights are set on AUTO, and they flick on, there are times when only 1 of the lights pop on. random on what side comes on as well. i thought it would help if i just avoid the AUTO, and just manually turn on my headlights, but nope. problem still there.

i got the harness installed so it's connected directly to the battery in case of a power issue, but nope. same thing.

anyone else having issues with their HIDS?

Mine does that too sometimes, just turn it off and back on, and I don't have the harness that connects to the battery, it's plug and play. It might be your relay / ballasts.

Did you turn it on when the engine is running? Mine were OK when the the engine is running.

Did had problem with my old HID. They went bad. I replaced 2 bulbs but they kept going bad so I replace the entire kit.

When they went bad, it would turn on for a few minutes and go off.

at first, it was just plug and play. but the issue was still going on. i would turn it off and on, but 50/50 if it would turn back on or not. lol, i'm sitting in traffic and looking at the car in front of me, i could see my reflection to see if the lights or on or not. then i would sit there in traffic turning my lights off and on. people thought i was flashing them.

but since the plug and play wasn't working, that's when we switched over to the relay / ballasts. same thing.

What kit do you have?

Yea, I always look out for my lights on the reflections from the cars in front of me.. Funny, they think I'm checkin' out their rides, but instead I'm looking at my own lights to see if both of them work or not... lol.

I'm not even going to respond to that because a mod would just end up locking this like the other threads. Not fair to the OP. If you have nothing useful to input, dont bother posting. /end rant

Im the one that intalled the kit on the car. there is a guy local that sells them here. ive replaced the ballast and was still having the issue.... then i installed the replay harness for him and it seemed like it got worse. I talked to the guy i got the kit from and he gave me a capacitor to install in the relay kit. Im not sure what it will do but the guy says it will fix the problem. he installs kits at his shop everday so im taking his word for it. TOYOTA for some odd reason i have trouble with.
