5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Well, I did attempt a search on this but turned up nothing.
I have an '06 Toyota Camry base model. I recently dropped some 19" rims on this thing and may I just say it looks mean. Now...when I changed rim size on my Camaro I was able to use a hypertech programmer specific to that vehicle and adjust the settings in the computer so that it recognizes the change. This resulted in correct readings on the speedo, etc.
The question is, what can I do about my Camry. Do I have to take it to the dealership or some performance shop? Or does something exist to correct the computer?
I have 225/40 ZR-19's all around. They said the radius would only be about 0.5" larger than stock (15").
I wouldn't worry about it.
205-65-15= 25.49 in. overall diameter (stock LE)
225-40-19=26.09 in.
The difference is 2.3% increase over stock size. It's not worth it to update your car's ECU.

^ no way! thought you were going to keep your hhr's! when are we getting new pics?
And you believe me that I'm done with rims...hahaha.
I will post it Monday. The new set is in my garage waiting to be mounted onto the current set of tires on the HR5. They are brand new at less than 1k miles driven. The HR5 already has a new owner waiting.....
I'm too busy in the weekend with kids soccer, karate, Sunday Church activities...and so on.
