Has anyone installed the K&N 69 Series Typhoon Short Air Intake on their GEN6 I4?? The K&N part number is 69-8610TTK. If you have, I would like to know what sort of performance improvement you got.

i have an LE I4 and installed the intake about 6 months ago. performance gains were little, if any at the mid rpm ranges. if any thing, just save your money get and the k&n or trd drop-in filter. major thing that you are paying for in that intake would be the nice "growl"/noise it gives out to make your engine sound meaner when you accelerate.
Thanks Trojan and PrincessPeach...just as I suspected...it doesn't really give a significant improvement over the K&N drop-in filter. The price in Sydney, Australia is really exhorbitant too at around AUD$400.
What's The Difference Between The Typhoon Short Intake And The Drop In Filter?
Is The Drop In Filter Also An Intake? I Have A 2009 4cyl I4..which One Is The Right One For My Engine?

Drop-In filter just replaces the OEM Toyota filter and is permanent. As in you never change it. You only clean it once a year (instructions on in package when you buy it). Intake replaces the whole airbox, you get a deeper growl in the sound and very slight increase in HP but you wont even notice it.
Both works. Depends what you want and what your wallet can afford. Intake can cost $300+ and drop-filter costs $40-50.
Pretty much what Trojan said above or what is said above in general answered your question.
Off-topic: That 50% tint you put on your car..I hope you didnt pay for it to be put on. Might as well put no tints cuz you wouldnt even know a difference.
Yeah I was also looking into the K&N Typhoon for my CE I4, but the costs are way too much and I dont think its not worth it, according to other peoples experiences. SO very soon I am going to get the K&N drop in filter, and people seemed to be more satisfied with the drop-in instead. But if you do intend to just go with the Typhoon, i have this guys email who is selling a brand new in box typhoon intake for your i4 for $225 shipped. Saves you about 75 bucks or so.
