Australia Wheel offsets for Aus Gen 5

Hi all,
I'm looking into fitting some wheels on my Sportivo however I'm quite confused with offsets. Now before I'm flamed to death I've searched through dozens of threads but none really answer my question as they're all for really large wheels and rather vauge on what fits (and gen 5 threads are a needle in a haystack of gen 6 threads...)

My factory Sportivo wheels are 16x6" and +45 offset with 205/60/R16 tyres. I'm looking at a set of Lenso (Tenzo) Type Ms in 17x7", I'm unsure of what offset is required (and if I can get these in something suitable).

I'm primarily concerned with strut clearance on the back wheels. I don't care how the wheels "tuck", but they must not rub and spacers aren't an option as they're illegal here. With the stock wheels and tyres I can only just get my finger between the tyre and strut so there isn't much clearance to spare - it seems I need to go considerably further out. Most of the wheels in this size seem to have offsets in the low +40s, but using a calculator it seems i need something around the low-mid +30s to retain close to stock strut clearance. I'm looking at either a 215/50/17 or 205/45/17 tyre (whichever is easier to get).

Can anyone help out?

A little bit of help lads?
I've had another look at the rears; there's oodles of clearance between the wheel and strut (perhaps 20mm or 3/4") , but very little between the tyre and strut (about 5mm or 7/32"). Is it just the tyre size in relation to offset that matters? So by running a tyre very close to stock width, on a wheel with offset close to stock it should fit okay, even though the wheel is an inch wider?

Just about every one here has after market wheels, so what wheel size and offset do you all run?

Try one of the AUS Toyota sites like Auscam.org or Toyota Owners Club AU.

I believe that the US gen 5 has a different rear suspension to the AUS gen 5.

The Vortex 17x7 wheels from Toyota have a +42 offset. A +45 in 17x7 will be very close to the strut or even touch if you have a tyre wider then 225.

I used to have the Kappa 18x7.5 +45 offset from the Aurion on my gen 5 with 225/45/18 tyres and they fitted great.

Cool thanks, it seems as long as I stay with a narrow tyre it should be fine then. The stock 205 Michellins have plenty of grip anyway.

I'll have a look at the Aussie sites, there aren't too many modded Camries here but
