does anyone know how to disable the lock/unlock door chime on a 09 se I4? or if it can even be done? i've searched this forum and couldnt find anything....also if anyone knows if the parking break warning can be shut off.
Thanks

i think he's talking about when the car beeps once when locked. And twice when unlocked. I know with the gen 5 theres a way to. But I'm not sure about the gen 6. Look in your manual

I don't have to go find my manual.
Yes, on the lock/unlock door chime. Your dealer can do it for a $$$$ charge.
I had the lock/unlock beep turned off at my dealer. also had them change the way the door locks lock and unlock, and disabled the drivers seat belt chime. It took them all of about 10 minutes to change all of those things for me.
oh yeah, and i had them change it so you only have to press the unlock button once and it unlocks all four doors.
and the truck button only needs a quick single press to open, no more holding it down for a second before it opens.

Thanks guys! I'm pretty good friends with the owners of the car dealership where i bought the car so I'll give them a call and see if i can get that annoying chime gone lol...
Hey Spins615,
Here is some instruction you can give it a try.
This is what I copy and paste onto my notepad when I first joined the forum. Let me know how it goes.
---------------------------------------
Turn off chime
If you touch the brake pedal, it will screw you up, so feet off the brake from the second you get in the car. I also had all doors closed, not sure if that matters.
- put in your key and turn the car on, do not start the engine
- Set the LCD on the combination meter to the ODO trip.
- turn car back off for a minute
- turn it back on
- Press and hold the TRIP meter reset knob for ten seconds or more within six seconds of turning the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Fasten the driver's seat belt while holding the knob (this is the tricky part)
- as soon as you fasen the belt, the LCD should change
You may have to hit the reset meter knob to cycle through b-ON to b-OFF (b-off, obviously turns the belt warning off)
- once you set it to b-off, just sit there and wait and the lcd will return to normal, turn the car off you are done.
If you miss any of the little things, it will not work.
--i heard it might work on the 07's but worked on all gen 5's

That's from the Gen5 manual. The gen6 tells you to go to your dealer. Last time I tried it didn't work. Maybe I did it wrong but who knows. If it works let me know so i can try it again!!

I didn't do this "chime off" because I didn't mind the chime. But I did use similar procedure to turn off the "auto-lock" when change shift and "auto-unlock" when change shift back to "P". I worked for me on those incidents.
