Washed my master key

I just discovered that I washed my '07 Camry master key when I did the laundry. Is there anything I can do to make sure it continues to work or should I anticipate having to replace it either now or in the near future?

I would make sure it completely dry before using it. Hopefully it still works. Keep us posted.
Good luck man.

the insides are in-cased in a rubber gasket, no water can get into the actual electronics of the key/remote. Ive washed my keys by mistake many times.

Too true.

But yea, I've dropped it in the snow before and such, seemed to be fine afterwards.

Just press any button, if your car responds, then you're good to go!

Here's a tip for ya:

Get one of those Air Duster can, open your remote and spray it. That'll make it dry faster, plus it's just air, won't damage anything.

Opening maybe a little excessive. It IS waterproof, you start opening it, drop a piece, don't put it back together right...etc. A quick dry outta do it...

You kiddin' me?

You've never opened it before? It's so easy, just use a flathead screwdriver, putting it back is even easier, even my 5 yr old cousin can do it.

Do I have to make a DIY on this?

Haha, plz link me when u'r done.

I havent had to take it apart yet.
From secondhand experience, a buddy who had a key and a seperate car alarm/door opener, dropped that in the snow, flipped out, opened it, and....never opened his car remotely again.

Though I agree with you about the simplicity and don't want to reference him to your cousin, I doubt its necessary.

Talking Camry Remote Cleaning DIY

1 Air Duster Can, 1 Flathead Screwdriver, Your Remote.

Insert Flathead screwdriver into the little opening on the side of the remote.

Twist it until your remote pops open.

Spray air duster.

Put all the buttons back, just match the shape, it's just like a puzzle.

All done!
