Found a nail on the side of my tire. What do I do?
So I was getting ready to wash my car today, spraying it down with water and all that; went to look at my wheels and then saw this:
Should I just leave it? If I take it out, would the tire start to leak air little by little? I would stop by a tire place, but I think they're closed by now.
wow you must have gotten that in your driveway or something, because normal driving will usually kick any nails to the rear tires due to rotational acceleration. With that odd angle, you may be fine. It may have just pierced the top layer. Do as njerald and N.E.O. say and pull it and see if it leaks air.
Yea that looks close. It probably wont leak if its not leaking now. It looks like it got just the top layer before the reinforcing. Dont drive with it or it may tear the tire worse. Just pull it if it doesnt leak good. If not, new tire time. 1 in a million shot though

If it leaks air, is there anything I could do to repair it? Or would I have to buy a new wheel, and if I do, how much would it cost?
You can only repair the tire if the puncture/hole is in the middel of the tire. When it happens on the near the sidewall, it is recommended to replace a new tire.

Oh I see. Whats the worst that would happen if I leave it alone?
