5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I have a 2007 Camry SE w/ 30k miles...stock Toyo tires are done! Can someone please recommend new tires (brand, type, etc)? Need some that will last longer that these.
The toyo versado's LX are a bit higher end toyo luxury touring tires. Have them on the gen5 and they are great. I recently got toyo eclipses on my accord and they dont even compare to the versado's!
im a big fan of yokohamas....for cost effective sport tires, the avid V4s and H4s do the job adequitly with decent ride quality and handling, and excellent tread life....i used a set of avid V4s for 35k miles and they still had 6/32 of life when i took them off sue to dry rot (my car sits alot)
i now have the yokohama ADVAN S-4 all season extreme sport tires and man are they something....tenacious grip no matter what the weather, and a nice, smooth quiet ride...theyre costly, but worth it
michelins are also great tires, and so are pirellis, but theyre expensive
continentals arent bad either...i had em on my integra and they werent bad
avoid the bridgestone or toyos, because they wear too quickly, and dunlops because theyre poorly constructed and noisey...this is just from my own experience however

Goodyear triple treads. They are a little expensive but well worth the money. I have had these on my last 3 cars and they have lasted 50-60K miles. I just put them on my 09 Camry and what a difference between the stock Michelin. There are more aggressive tire so you will loose that soft ride the Michelin touring tire has.
I had toyo stock tires with 35K miles, and replaced them with yokohama S. Drive 2 weeks ago. They look great and can take faster turn. Check with tirerack.com and yoko S. drive ranks #1 on ultra performance tires. There is also a youtube video where a car show tested the S. drive tires in really wet condition. Check it out. You will like these tires.
I'm very happy with the tires on my car, the Falken ZE-912. Excellent wet and dry performance and they are fairly smooth and quiet, although I am more interested in the performance characteristics than luxury. The stock Toyos on my SE V6 were great also. If it weren't for the price difference (and wanting to try something a little different), I would have stuck with the Toyo Avid A4's.

im guessing he has the Toyo Proxes J33. my parent's camry came with those as well.
we just bought new tires yesterday. at 27k miles our tires weren't that good.
We went with Falken Ziex 512 225/50/17s this time.
so far so good. havent really driven them far yet but i sure do like them compared to the stock Toyo's that came with the car.

I agree with Corey on all his points. I have Yoko Avid V4S's and they are quiet, have great grip and look nice at the same time.
Corey, are the Advan S-4's better than the V4S's? I wont be needing tires any time soon but its something to keep in mind.
randy
theyre much much better IMHO....they are much better cornering and slightly quieter...they have a sportier feel to them, as well as a different sidewall and tread pattern...they are quieter and smoother than the avids, but still have the same durability
the ADVAN series are yokohama's flagship tires, the stick like super glue, but are pricey. depends on what you want with your tires, for mileage your better off with michelins primacy mxv4's, its backed up with a 60,000-mile manufacturer's limited warranty. For the best bang-for-the-buck performance, Falken Azenis RT-615's are second to none, they stick like mad on dry pavement but they wear out pretty fast averaging 15,000k

I have had the yoko v4s on mine for about 6000 miles now and have been very happy with them. No regrets on the purchase and so far I would buy them again.
If I get 50k miles out of them before they need replaced, I will be extremely happy.
