Gen5 drove over a pile of leaves/undercarriage damage...

well today without really thinking, i drove over a big ass pile of leaves while preparing to make a right turn ... off all the places, this is where all the leaves had to be... every other spot on every other street around here is completely cleaned up from the leaves and it was like they were all dumped here... anyway i move over into the shoulder, not really thinking and all of the sudden the passenger side of my car when THUD as i went over the leaves and THUD again as i came off of them... since when were leaves so hard anyway? i mean it was like driving over a rock... anyway my question is what do you think the chances of undercarriage damage are? eyeballing the car, i noticed a piece of plastic under the bumper was slightly bent and i was able to push on it and make it straight again but obviously i can't put it on a lift and i don't have a jack, so what do you think i should do? thanks.

The leaves didn't do that. Maybe a blocvk of concrete that fell off a truck and managed to be covered by the leaves did it. Go back and feel around with your foot. Anyway it is liekly just fine. Stop worrying.

I think you should get a jack and put in your trunk where it is supposed to be.

X2. Why would you take the jack out in the 1st place? As long as you didn't bottom out, you should be fine. Just look under it as best you can to make sure there's no damage.

it probably just knocked the plastic splashguard loose or bent it...the worst damage it could have done is possibly dented the oil or transmission pan....id get under there and poke around with a flashlight asap

lots of people hitting stuff and doing "undercarriage damage" this time of year...this is like the 5th thread on the same topic....

I hope i wasn't the catalyst to all these undercarriage issues....

Btw, i took my to Les Schwab to have them take a look. All they found on mine was a scrape (paint) on the rail guard. They did it for free
