I had the worst day ever....I woke up early this morning around 8:30 am to head to the post office, I started my car and it started fine, I let the engine warm up like i usually do everymorning since it's getting a little bit chilly outside.
I head to the post office and upon going back to my car, my car does not start up. But here is the catch, the starter is not making a clicking noise. I hear the everything else turn on but like my starter was not making a clicking noise.
So I asked for a jump and waited for about 5mins, tried again, nothing....no clicking no nothing, eveyrthing on the dash board turns on but no starter clicking...
So I had the bright idea once my brother on his nissan sentra 1991 i believe he had to hit the starter with a pipe so he could start the car.
I took my wrench and slighty tapped my starter a couple a times and there my car started!!!!!! I managed to drive it back home and turned it off. I tried to start it back up after 45 mins of being off and it still turned on but barely. It sounded like it was being forced to turn on, or it was hesitating.
Could it be that the starter is going bad? I just replaced my battery about 5 months ago, and the alternator i did the test on it and test results came out alright.
Is there a link for the factory service guide here on TN, I tried looking for it and I cannot seem to find it for a 2002 camry, I have the service manual for a 1997.
I would suggest checking the battery again and its connection. If it is turning over slow, it is usually the starter not getting enough power; it still can be a bad starter, but battery still should be check first.

Just to let you know, the following moring I took my cat to auto zone so they can test out my problem, apparently the battery, starter and alternator are all fine. I did clean both terminals with a wire brush and the battery acid cleaner spray. Once I got home from autozone I let the car cool off for a little while for about an hour, so when I tried starting it up back again, it failed to start. I had to hit the starter with a pipe and upon doing that it started.
Just found out my problem, just to let yall not that my starter finally gave out, I took it to autozone to get my starter tested and apparently it was no good, thats why everytime i started my car is was a very hesitant start. I bought a new starter, now it starts up like a champ!! Thanks guys
