5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Okay... so I have an 07 Camry SE V6 and have had it for almost 2 years now. I am experiencing symptoms of either of the two noises that seem to get talked about on here a lot.
My question is how do I determine which noise it is (and which TSB would be applied)? It sounds like it could be either the dashboard rattle or the windshield rattle, but it's very tough to tell.
Any insights from you folks that have had either or both issues?
Just as a note, I'm in Southern California and the noise only seems to occur when the weather is cold out, especially at night or early morning. It has nothing to do with the car engine itself being warmed up, but just the weather. It is especially bad after I leave work at night (usually around 10:30pm) and lately with the temps being lower than normal.
If your car is still in warranty, then take it to the dealer and drop it off the night before. That way they can check it first thing in morning (when it's cold). This is what I did and they were able to confirm that it needed the TSB.

Thanks all!!
My guess is the dash TSB. My 2009 does the same exact thing and it has the newest Toyota dash clips and pad tape. I just ignore it now. I had the dash taken out once and the noise is worth it compared to what you can have happen after your dash is removed.

First of all... thank you for your replies, and my apologies for not replying sooner (school, work, yada yada yada...)
Here's another question for you guys... on the TSB documentation, it has the model, line #, plant and effective VIN. How do I determine which line # mine was in? I know it was made at the TMMK plant, but my VIN is less than the Line 1 but greater than the Line 2 VIN. Very confusing for me.
No one knows how to figure out which line # from the TMMK plant the car is from?
Would love some help since I'm going to see a dealer tomorrow morning and doing a search turned up no answers.

Are you blind?
If you look at your Vin number and compare it to the TSB VIN numbers from both lines and can't figure it out, maybe a neighborhood elementary kid can help you.

Those VIN#s are for 08' vehicles. If you have an 07' should be covered.
What one of the other poster said is correct, you might be asking for more noise if you have the dash pulled to fix one noise and ended up with more.

Blind? Not quite...
I've attached a picture to show you what I'm referring to about the 2 lines. And in another post of mine, my VIN is before the effective VIN of Line 1 but after the VIN of Line 2. I'm just trying to determine which line my car was produced on. I would assume Line 2, but I'm throwing the question out here to see if there are more concrete answers.

Since you aren't smart enough to take a hint and too dense to read the whole VIN #s when you are looking at them, do you have an 07 or a 77 in front of the U in your VIN #?????????????????
Maybe you can figure it out from there.............

Thank you for the link... I did in fact have an older TSB (NV008-07)
Sadly, there wasn't a PDF or something like that attached, but I will let the dealer know of the updated number.
