5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I have 2007 Camry with the bluetooth system and voice commands will not work. It is really starting irritate me. Does anyone know what to do or is it something I have to take to the dealership? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I do not use mine on a regular basis. Anytime I have used them resulted in the system telling me to repeat it. They work, but you need to speak perfectly for it to respond. If you cannot get any commands to work then I would take it to the dealership. Maybe something happened to your mic.

Have someone else speak a voice command to the bluetooth to be sure its not just your voice it doesn't acknowledge. Or. disguise your voice with a deeper tone.

The commands on my Bluetooth work perfectly. However, sometimes it doesn't switch the speakers from the music to the caller's voice when I make or receive a call.
This week I'm getting a new 2009 head unit being put in and we'll see if that fixes the problems.

I just use the TUNE-FILE knob on the right side of the stereo. Much easier, and faster. Try that. If all else fails, try a Borat voice and accent

Two of you guys mentions getting a 2009 overhead unit.
1. What parts are you talking about? i.e. what all are you replacing?
2. How much did that run?
3. Is it really that much better?
I have not had that many problems "knock on wood," but just curious know.

1. Replaced the entire overhead console. See pic below.
2. Nothing. Covered under warranty.
3. Nothing concrete, but when others called me using the Camry's Bluetooth, it sounded a lot better on the other end. Less "echoey" and louder. Plus I like the moonroof buttons better on this one compared to the 2007 overhead console.

I don't know anything about the overhead unit. I'm getting an entirely new radio unit (the Bluetooth is inside that). It's under warranty. I don't know if the new one is better or not, but seeing as how they're paying for it, I don't mind the newer parts.

What did you tell the dealership to get them to fix it under warranty?
Is there a TSB for it?
Thanks
