2003 XLE I4 - Need Car Audio Setup & Install Suggestions

I have a 2003 Toyota Camry XLE with the 6-disc CD/Tape System.

I would like to keep the stock headunit, but replace the speakers and run it through an amp while adding a subwoofer. I have an audio system set from my old car just sitting in a box, with lots of monster rca/audio cables.

2 = 6x9 3-way Boston Acoustic Rally Pros
2 = 6x9 3-way MB-Quart Speakers
2 = 5.25" MB-Quart Components (without crossovers)
2 = 5.25" Boston Acoustics Components (with crossovers)
1 = 600watt Rockford Fosgate 4-Channel Amplifier
1 = Infinity Basslink subwoofer (10" with Baffle).

I'm not sure what the best way to set this up is. But I was thinking of replacing the 6x9s in the front and back, and powering them off the amplifier.

I am just wondering what the best way to run the amp power cable from the battery, and also running the speaker wires to and from the amplifier?

Also, where is the best place to put the amp, I have dual power seats for driver/passenger, (Trunk? Under seat?)?

Also, how do you 'mount' the amplifier and subwoofer to the car? Is it best to put a piece of wood under the trunk carpet and then screw it down into the wood? or do you guys just drill straight into the metal car body?

Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.

Gen5 Diy?

I've just hook-up my system on my '03 SE I4. lots of work.....ran power down driver side, speakers wire down the respective side, and RCA down the center. Kenwood deck with a 4ch and a 2ch amp, 4 6X9 Boston 3ways, 2 1" soft dome Boston tweet, a 12" Kenwood sub in a seal box. Vary happy with the sound but the 2 amps eats a lot of power the alt have a tough time keeping up.....(at 1/2 power with car parked and engine ideling the sub amp is getting less than 12v.) so watch how much power you are going to run on your amp. The 6X9 at the door will need a base plate to add depth or it won't fit, the OEM speakers are vary shallow..compack. In the trunk I had to plywood the floor to add the sub-box and amp rack. Good luck

I appreciate the response!

Would this work for the front and rear to "Space" the speakers?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=310091422218

Or are the fronts a different shape?

Gen5 ????

Well...the rear is not the big problem, and the spacer looks to make it easier for rear 6X9 install.....Now the front ....it took me a while to cut out and mod the factory plastic spacer and add on more MDF to get enough clearence for my Boston 6X9....sorry no pixs....some where in this site has info of how to make the 6X9 spacer....make sure you double check your 6X9 againest the factory one first, it might just drop right in....take care removing the door panels (use the right tool at the right spot!)....best of luck

Thanks for the advice! Do you know where I can find information on how to remove the door panels and uninstall/install speakers in the front and also the rear?

So do you think I should put the boston 6x9s in the front doors and the MB Quart 6x9's in the rear ?

I wonder if just replacing the speakers without adding my amp would make a noticeable difference? I just hate the thought of having to run all that cable, I remember how much work it was in my last car.

Thanks!
