Light off delay time...

Does anyone know to change this "customized parameter". The default is set at 30 secs after you close the door. I want it to be 0 seconds. I called the stealership and they wanted 90 bucks to do it. I tried looking at the service manual without luck. Car is 2009 xle v6 with navi. Anybody have any suggestions?

Another useless reply from njerald.

Anyway, a simple thing you can do to get that 0sec like you want is by pressing the "Lock" twice on your key. Hope this is the solution you'll like.

I had the dealer did it for free because I asked them to do it at the same time they perform the TSB. It was free because they had to hookup the ECU to the computer so they labor is already there.
Of course, I didn't just walk-in to any dealership. I'm a "regular" customer there.

why would you want to disable it? both my Supras have it and it's considered a convenience, especially back when they came out.

I just like it better that everything is off as soon as the door is open.

Razo-E,

Some of us prefer to light up our targets with our SureFire lights instead of being highlighted as a target by the cars headlights....

oh shit wait, I'm thinking of something else, I'm thinking of interior lights..

I know most Toyotas have auto-off headlights as soon as the key's put in the off position, and the driver's door is open, everything turns off..

CupCate18,

We have had a problem with home invasions in this area in the past few years. They seem to wait until you get out of your car and use your handy dandy headlights to light up the door. You can't see them, they can see you VERY well and then you become a statistic. I try to be aware of my surroundings and at the very least, have a nice light to blind someone with.

To some it is a security issue to have the lights on, to others, it is a security issue to have them off. I prefer to have mine turned off when the car is shutdown.

What part of Ga are you in? All ours turn off when we get out, And my driveway doesn't point to my house. I back surefire 100%. I used to have the really small SureFire and carry it in my pocket 24/7. And of course, it went missing. Shine once, and you got more time.

I'm just north of Dalton....

When I leave the lights on "auto", they will turn on at dusk but the factory setting has a 30 second delay before they switch off. Mine is now 0 seconds.

Yes I do like my lights. The one I have with me is an E2D Executive Defender with a strike bezel. Each car I own also has a 6P LED in the glovebox for breakdowns. With 80 Lumens and an 11 hour run time, they are nice when you need them
