5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Well, it's been an awfully long time since I last posted here. I think my most recent post was in July or August, and I was asking for opinions on wheels. Unfortunately, that never happened. My girlfriend and I had sort of a 'family issue,' and so instead all of my money was spent on moving from Cincinnati up to Waterford, MI. My savings dwindled as my company took nearly a month to get me working again. And now I only work part time, and I took a pay cut. Ugh, my Camry hates me, I can feel it. I got her all excited about the new wheels and lowering springs, and I let her down. The freaking Michigan salt all over the roads has started to form small spots of rust on my 400 dollar cat-back exhaust. My almost brand new cross drilled rotors and pads are squealing, and I used my remote start the other day and saw a small puff of blueish smoke. On top of that, I'm at 94k mi and I really need to change my timing belt, if it hasn't been already (I bought the car certified used at 81k). Haha, and my stereo won't play recently burned cd's, only older ones. Go figure. I'm not really sure what the point of this post was, I guess I just wanted to vent and say hi to everyone, and wish everyone has better luck!

Welcome back my friend.

I can't really get a new car, as I'm still paying for this one for nearly 4 more years. Really the only thing that NEEDS to be fixed is the timing belt, since I don't really want to be left stranded somewhere. The exhaust is aesthetic, the stereo isn't a big deal since I use an mp3 player, and the brake noise I usually don't hear over my music, and it still stops crazy fast. The blueish smoke...I just don't know. I've only seen it once and it was very faint. I read here that it's not a critical issue, so I dunno.
Yeah, it's an 02 LEV6. I've been looking for it more and more lately, and I have yet to see that little puff of smoke more than once. Also, I think it was shortly after I switched over to full synthetic oil. Could that have caused it? It's probably because mine was made in the US. Gaaaagh.
