Supercharger or Turbocharger

Alright, just got a 09 V6 Camry LE Black
Was wondering which one you guys would recommend, a supercharger or a turbocharger, and why?

Do they even sell them for Camrys, because I'm guessing not too many people are going to be putting them up into their Camrys hah

From what I know, the supercharger hurts your fuel economy more because it increases your RPMS even at the lower gears. Also, the supercharger costs more than the turbocharger. I've also heard that the supercharger "sounds more badass" than the turbocharger does. Correct me if im wrong.

Just would like to hear your inputs on these things guys

under power you can definitely hear the belts of the supercharger whirring...and yes it is bad ass. but then again the blow off valve of a turbo is pretty bad ass too. as fars as which one is better, it really depends on what sort of power gains you want to make, how you want the power applied, reliability, all that stuff. im not sure on details but i know those all should play a part in your choice. hope this helps

You think that the V6 in your Camry needs more power? Seriously?

Superchargers, yes.

Eaton TVS supercharges that are from TRD Australia used on Toyota Aurions.

Turbo's, of course.

Custom turbo manifold would be the hardest thing to get, after that, your practically good to go.

So, all in all, definitely possible =)

Did you know that Volkswagen sells Golfs and Polo's with a 1.4 liter twin charged engine. (supercharged and turbocharged) 170 hp from a super efficient tiny little 1.4L engine.

And 44 miles per gallon highway 33 city. best of both worlds, roots supercharger gives the little 1.4L low end grunt (torque) and the turbo gives it great power higher in the rev band.

That depends on what roads your talking about. There are no plans for VW to bring the 1.4 TSI engine to the US period. However they have sold many tens of thousands of vehicles equipped with this groundbreaking powerplant all over Europe and Asia.
