Wheel Gap Question

Hello, I am looking into buying 18 X 8 wheels for my SE. Does the jump from 17 to 18 change the size of the wheel gap? What size tire would I want to minimize the wheel gap? Thanks

It also depends on if your car is lowered or not...

are you talking about the fender-tire (vertical) or the "stance" width of tire.. 18" wheels have a tire size 235/45/18 which is almost the same as stock.. 26.3" i believe... now for the tire stance.. stock SE is 17x7 +45.. your gonna need 18x8 +35 or +30 offset to make it a little flush.. hope that helped..

How about this: Get on the net, look up the phyisical dimensions of the tires you have now, then do the same to the tires you are considering purchasing. Compare the dimensions. This isn't brain surgery.

I am referring to the gap between the tire and fender vertically, I am not concerned with offset I do not have a tire selected. What would be an appropriate sized 18 inch tire to fill in the wheel gap a bit extra.

Are you sure? because I've seen so many Camry's with 18's and "right" size of tires but still the gap was bigger.

minimize your wheel gap? drop it with springs and call it a day... if you want the same tire size its gonna be 235/45/18... tires are expensive though.. you cant really minimize the wheel gap by making tires bigger... you can but its not proper. makes your engine work harder.. recommended tires could only go +/- 3%.
