Why, buy the top end toyota's with them fully loaded when you can add leather ground effects and a sunroof for less with aftermarket? Next time in a dealership be sure to check all options before just buying. and yes i do work for an aftermarket shop so i know how it all works.

Zip.. Zip..
Let me rewrite that,
Why, buy the aftermarket leather ground effects and a sunroof for less when you can get the top end toyota's with them fully loaded? Next time in a dealership be sure to check all options before just buying. and no i do not work for an aftermarket shop so i don't know how it all works.
Well, If you look at the price difference between the high end and the low end camrys can just add leather to your CE instead of moving up to an LE for hundreds less. Or also just add a sunroof. Just trying to help stimulate the car buying and make it easier for people to shop and so you know all your options
Most people that do get their cars fully loaded in most cases do keep them for a while and dont worry about resale value. I cant control warranites and or a peice of mind that comes from the manufacturer. I'm just stating the fact if you want leather in your CE and only want to spend the money on the CE and not move up to lets say the LE for soo much more you can. Most people are not aware you can just add leather to the stock cloth car on a dealers lot. So that is the point im making. Also, for car dealers to help move inventory add some heated seats or leather to the CE and see what happens.

There are many reasons why people prefer to have these options from the factory, such as:
1) Warranty on the items. Sorry, I don't want to drive to a different little back-room shop for each of my mods for warranty (that is...if any warranty is even offered).
2) Higher re-sale value. Most if not all aftermarket add-ons DECREASE the "official appraised" value although you may derive added enjoyment and use while you're the owner. People like to see factory stuff. It's predictable, documented, etc.
3) Factory add-ons or options usually look much better. For instance, people with aftermarket foglights often must integrate an ugly switch somewhere while the OEM foglights have an extra ring switch on the left steering column stalk.
4) People often get options as part of a whole package. If you want purely individual options, then you have to buy a German car where you can select either individual options or packages. It costs more to manufacture a car with your custom wishes rather than applying package A or B to it.
5) Not everyone wants to to do "DIY" addons. Some people are very crafty, while others struggle with changing a tire. Some people like to have their car delivered with all the creature comforts from day 1 without spending any effort retrofitting stuff later. Mind you, you will end up spending MORE money and TIME instead of getting an option from the factory to begin with.

How do you handle the seat mounted airbags in the front driver and passenger seats?
