Gen6 Sub installed - custom

Here some pic's of my latest project. Was the first time for me to build and install a sub/amp.

Finished product:

Sub only (the bright spot is the reflection from the key lock):

Amp only on custom plate integrated into the side liner:

Enclosure in fab - you can see the slanted wedge shape and just enough to fit into the rear seat cutout

Power wiring with fuse:

The enclosure is 0.85cf, built out of 3/4" MDF and holding a Rockford Fosgate Punch P3SD212 (DVC, 2Ohm each), Amp is an Alpine MRP-M500.

I am still in the break-in period of the sub, but it already adds a nice "punch" to the OEM JBL sound.

I went with the shallow mount as I wanted to keep as much trunk space as possible. The sub can also be removed (key lock) in 30sec, in case I need all of the trunk space.

Thanks to all who answered my many questions regarding the install.

That looks very good and a very clean job.

I wanted to do something like that with two tens.

I put a box with two 12s just to try it out the wires aren't really hidden or anything and im selling it soon.

I might do something similar to yours this spring if i have the money but it's the last thing on my list.

Good job and thanx for the pix.

That is a very clean install for it being your first install. Very good work. I've seen people do much worse work after doing several prior installs. That does look nice and integrates well with the trunk and seats. Slick idea with the lock too.

If you ever want to upgrade or get a little more volume out of your current sub, I am more than willing to help you with a design. I've got more than just a little experience in that arena

haha, nothing going on in my garage. just my camry sitting on donuts/steal wheels and am getting ready to sell my axis hiros/rims.

btw, i'd like to add that you have some excellent craftsmanship on that install. looks better than a lot of the so-called professional installation work that i've seen from local car audio shops
