02 Camry - Heater Belt Squeals

When I turn on heater if the car is still a little cold it souds like some belt is slipping or something. What can it be. Once it is at normal operating temp. it is all good. no more squealing.

Do you mean the A/C belt? There is no belt for the heater. Did you have it on defrost when it makes the noise?

Where is the noise coming from? Inside the car or outside the car? Does the noise change with the fan speed?

It comes from outside the car, I don't know about the fan speed. I will have to check.

Is the blue 'A/C' light on when it makes the noise? Switch that off if it is on and see if the noise stops.

If the noise does stop, you probably need to have your belts check. Maybe adjust or replace depending on their condition.

Sounds like it might be the heater motor itself sqeeling when cold, the bearings or bushings are probaly dry

Well depending on how mechanically inclined you are, you can just drop the blower motor out of the heater and lube the bearings/bushings if you can get to them. Since your Camry is an 02 might be easier to just replace the blower motor.

The blower motor is inside the car, if the noise is from outside the car, then.......? Are you sure the noise is from outside the car?
