anyone use a 4 channel lineout converter

Has anyone used a 4 channel line output converter in a 09 camry LE. I'm adding new speakers with an amp but keeping the stock radio for now. Has anyone used this unit:

Schosche is an all right one, I would say use it for the simple fact that it would pretty much be the same thing as any other.

As for hooking it up, you have to find the JBL amp and determine signal side and speaker side. I don't have the tech sheet right in front of me, but you can probably google it and find out. Just to give you an idea of what your looking for; spekaer colors are pink - purple, light/green - blue, red - white, and yellow - black. I think its light colors in the front are positive, and dark colors in the back are positive. One way you can check polarity is to cut the speaker terminal at the speaker off, plug it into the speaker you took out, get a regular 9V battery and pop the speaker. (+) on one wire and (-) on the other. If the speaker pops outward, then that is correct polarity, and if it pops inward, that is reverse polarity and all you have to do is switch the battery around. Once you find out the correct polarities on all the speakers, at the amp, those speaker wires will go to the after market amplifier. Then the signal wires will go into the Scosche output converter and your RCA's will plug into that module as well, and you will run those RCA's to the aftermarket amp to their correct channels.

Make sure you unplug the amp and find the correct wires, if you don't unplug the amp, all you are doing is amping an amp and it will either be really loud or you will damage something. I would strongly recommend going to Sears or Checkers and getting a DMM so you can test your wires before you cut them, YOU DO NOT WANT TO CUT THE WRONG WIRES!!!!!

Good Luck and I hope this helps... Shoots

I didnt take the time to read the response above but I've used this Scosche converter and it is a POS. First of all, the connectors for the speaker wires are complete crap, you have to tighten bolts on it but it loosens when you slightly move it. I've bought 8-gauge wire to connect it from the stereo harness to the Scosche and it was just a pure waste of money. Also, the damn thing doesnt output good audio. The quality was complete crap again. And also, there is some engine hissing noise coming through the speakers. AND you can also hear the static sound in the back because the knobs are REALLY sensitive. Everything about this product pissed me off and made me waste over $30 thinking it was something else. DO NOT BUY IT. I ended up returning it.

Your better alternative is the PAC OEM-2:

Buy this and you will have no trouble installing it and the audio quality is amazing. I had 0 problems with this one.

Thanks for the info but that PAC OEM-2 says it works with factory premium systems. I have a camry LE so its got the basic factory radio (NOT JBL). Would this Converter still work with my radio. I'm adding 4 6x9 3-way infinity kappas with the 4 channel infinity 475 amp. So is this PAC switch the answer to run those speakers to my factory radio with an amp and still have clean sound? I really dont wanna use that SCOSCHE Line-output converter and still get engine noise.
Thanks for your help
-Gary

I am currently running four Polk momo mmc690 6x9 3-ways with external crossovers powered by a JL 300/4 amp on a Camry LE. I simply cut the speaker wires from the harness and connected them directly to the PAC OEM-2, then connected the four RCA plugs with Monster cable to the amp.

So yes, definitely go with the PAC OEM-2. It has outperformed Scosche most definitely.

I have wasted a lot of money and time having to learn that Scosche is a POS the hard way. You, my friend, have been saved all that by a simple recommendation. Trust me, you will be 100% satisfied with the PAC OEM-2.

No doubt, goto pages 17 and 18, look at F6 and F7 diagrams for the "2. Radio Receiver (Standard Model)". Remember, the diagrams are the back wire side of the harness not the front plug part. You'll know what I mean when you take a look at the color coding.
