5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Okay so I made a post a few weeks ago about buying some 6000k (HiD) lights.
I decided to go with a 4300k HiD, since it's almost 100% white, matches with my Super White Camry SE.
I am probably going to buy a kit from XenonDepot.com but after probing around a forums, I found out that there was a XenonDepot Kit & a Xtreme Digital Kit, both HID kits. However, someone said the quality in the Xtreme Digital Kit was questionable..so I'm a bit confounded. Also I'm thinking about getting H11s more importantly, but what's the difference between a H11 and say H3? Or a 9006 vs 9004?
My uncle is a certified Mechanic who does all of my fixing for me (such as tire rotation & fix-up paint, etc) so I don't need to worry about installation as much as the final effect. Oh and I'll tell him to cover up the squirrel spotters so I don't glare people >:O
I guess what I'm trying to do is get a matching light scheme with my super white car, also can I fit 4300k fog lights too? I don't want white lights w/ yellow fog lights, white on white on white please.
Hopefully some more experienced Camry owners can enlighten me on anything. The sooner I know, the sooner I can get them installed, and sooner you guys see some nice pics of you're helping!
H11 is just the socket of bulb that your car takes, that's all. You don't exactly need HID fogs, but sure, why not, MTEC bulbs or just any hyper white bulbs work fine for fogs, Nokya or PIAA are ones to name.
4300K is a good color for low beams, I'm a fan of yellow fogs, even on white cars, but matching with 4300K is alright too.

If you're worried about quality, that vendor also offers a Philips-based kit. Most complains that came through the forum were directed towards the plastic bases getting lose in comparison to metal bases. Because of the heat, they ended up melting various components in their headlights. Notice I said some, not many or all.
Also, I would skip HID fogs. OEM already glare enough, since their main purpose to to light up signs and areas surrounding the front of the car. If your heart is set on them, do as many of the other people here do and only run them with your DRL or parking lights.
And to remark on spark's post. Stay away from Noyka!!!

You must get H11, its the bulb size. I have a super white 07 camry as well, and some blue compliments the white i think =D. Just got my HID's for very cheap in Santa Ana. Plug n play, but I am having problems. Sometimes only one light will turn on, so i gotta turn it off the back on. But my friend has no problems with his, but thats what a warrantys for! Also installation is super easy. I went with 8k....its pretty blue, but if you want a hint of blut id say 4300k is fine or 5k if you can get that.

I don't use a relay harness either, and yes, sometimes one light (right side in my case) doesn't turn on, turn off, back on. But that rarely happened, it's like once in every 10-15 flicks.

I was going to, I have the relay. The reason I didn't put it is because the dealer will see the wires hangin' around my battery and will question it. Cause my car is still a lease car right now.
I think I will settle with a Philips kit like recommended above, Philips is a good brand anyway.

It says it comes with "Complete Wiring Harnesses", I dont know if that means relay harness, probably does though haha. The XT-4k-H11P H11 4300k Xtreme Philips Xenon HID Conversion Kit is what I have my mind set on. Probably order it later today, if you guys can confirm that it is, indeed, the right one.
Fog Lights:
Maybe HIDs would be like a ranged flashbang when I turn 'em on haha.
But can anyone recommend a good vendor to get matching white lights?
Like darksparkz said above; but I need to find a vendor, maybe you guys can help me out.
These kits come with the harness to be able to plug and play but not with a relay harness. Good relay harnesses are dual (each side has its own battery connection, relay), and are fuse protected.
