Gen6 how often do you guys clean your K&N?

Ive had my K&N air filter in the car for about 10K miles and its starting to look dirty. I know its supposed to be cleaned every 50,000 miles, but that seams a bit much so i think I'm going to buy the cleaning/oiling kit. How often do you guys clean yours?

Gen5

I have been doing mine once a year since I started using them on my cars. Drive about 15,000-17,000 on each car every year. Maybe over kill, but I do most of my routine maintenance sooner than recommended

yea, between me and my grandfather we put about 13,000 per year. This year was less because the car wasn't used for a month because my grandpa had surgery

Make sure when you re-oil it, you don't overdo it.
A clogged MAF sensor is not what you want.

i change my oil every 6 months or 3000 miles regardless of how often i drive the car. i guess i just don't have as many places to go as you guys do.

25,000 miles in 3 months is absurd. you should look into a diesel volkswagen for your next car. those suckers run forever.

so anyway...i took a ride to advanced auto parts yesterday and picked up the cleaning kit. Its pretty strait forward. The filter is now cleaned, oiled, and ready for another year or so.
