Ive had my K&N air filter in the car for about 10K miles and its starting to look dirty. I know its supposed to be cleaned every 50,000 miles, but that seams a bit much so i think I'm going to buy the cleaning/oiling kit. How often do you guys clean yours?

I have been doing mine once a year since I started using them on my cars. Drive about 15,000-17,000 on each car every year. Maybe over kill, but I do most of my routine maintenance sooner than recommended

3000 miles a year? What the heck?!?! I drive around 12000 a year.
yea, between me and my grandfather we put about 13,000 per year. This year was less because the car wasn't used for a month because my grandpa had surgery

so anyway...i took a ride to advanced auto parts yesterday and picked up the cleaning kit. Its pretty strait forward. The filter is now cleaned, oiled, and ready for another year or so.
